By APA Admin in Recognition, Los Angeles, National

APA member Iris Debelder was awarded the 7th Julia Margaret Cameron Award in 2015.

It will be exhibited in Berlin, this October, at the Biennial of Fine Art and Documentary Photography. The exhibition runs from October 6 - October 30!

It is an image from a personal series “City Unseen”.

The image is "Untitled".

Iris describes the image as,  "A surreal love story in New York City.  Where light becomes dark and dark becomes light, with no beginning and no end. Looking up, looking down, all dazzling. A metamorphosis of the soul.

This series is based on a darkroom technique, called solarization, re-exposure creating a reversal of tonalities giving it its surreal character and emphasizing the amalgam of the city's impressive architecture.”

“Untitled” was taken near 5th street in downtown Manhattan.

This portfolio "City Unseen" was also mentioned in the digital magazine “The Eye Of Photography” in the “Portfolio of readers”.
