Like many photographers the idea of organizing and registering your photographs with the copyright office is right up there with alphabetizing receipts for your accountant. And In some ways they have a lot in common. Filing out the registration form for copyrights is just that filling out a federal form. And just like preparing your tax documents there are a few things you will need to organize before you open the web browser.

Richerd Kelly, a Pittsburgh based photographer has led numerous photographers through the process and has some suggestions and tips for making the process less challenging and maybe even a little bit of fun.

There will be a handout or two that you will be able to use as a checklist for organizing and some resources to learn more about your specific questions. If you have any questions in advance send them to X and we will use that as a starting point for the presentation. At some point we may even ask you what your biggest fear is in registering your work. Like most of my presentations they tend to go into talk therapy mode rather efficiently.

We will look at organizing your photos, tips to track the stats of registrations, give you some broad guidance regarding publication and unpublished, as well as the resources the copyright office has available to photographers. Richard is not a lawyer so he won’t be offering any legal advice but will happily point you towards any resources that you may require.

This event is online via Zoom & it's free!
