Chapter: New York /
Pro Type: Photographer

I'm a photographer and designer living and working in Newburyport, Massachusetts. In 2015, I completed my education at the New Hampshire Institute of Art. I primarily work with black and white film, and have been developing my own at home for the past few years.

People ask me constantly, why shoot film, when digital is what everyone is using today?

Because film is just different. I could ramble on and on about the nostalgic qualities of film and dust & scratches and how everything that digital is, and will be, it owes to film. But I won't, because it's already been said. In this world that is becoming ever more dependent on digital technologies and instant gratification, I want to let people experience again that feeling of true joy when they see their final images after waiting for them to be developed and printed. I want to remind people that fast, immediate, and convenient are not always ideal qualities to strive for, and that in this world if you want to truly stand out one must return to the old ways of doing things.

Most importantly, I want to help people to slow down and really enjoy everything the world has to offer.

I aim to provide a service for those who want more than digital has to offer, for those rare people that don't care about fitting in, and storing everything in the Cloud. A service for those people who value the time and effort that goes into everything they do, as much as the final product.
