Brian Paul Clamp's juror statement:
Thank you for the opportunity to judge APA|NY’s 2nd Annual Juried Gallery Exhibition. In this call for entry, American Photographic Artists (APA|NY) invited participation from all APA members, regardless of chapter, as well as photographers seeking membership. The range of entries was rich and wide, and as always, my greatest challenge was narrowing down my selections to a reasonable number for the gallery walls. I enjoyed seeing portraiture, landscape, wildlife, still life, abstraction, and architecture in an array of imaginative and original styles. Jurying these competitions is an important way for me to stay on top of new developments in photography. It is essential for me to see work coming directly out of artists’ studios, and I appreciate reviewing the photographs of not only the winners but everyone who submitted to the call for work. There are so many powerful photographers working today worthy of recognition by wider audiences.
