AI/ML Media Advocacy Summit

A FREE Online event bringing together experts and creators to discuss the creative community’s response to AI/ML media generators. APA member Jeff Sedlik will speak on behalf of APA on the Photographers’ Panel - Friday, March 10, 2023, 1:30 pm PT, 3:30 pm CT, 4:30 pm ET. In addition, our panel also includes photographer Jingna Zhang who recently lost a plagairism case in Europe and Santiago Lyon, Head of Advocacy and Education for the Content Authenticity Initiative at Adobe.

AI/ML is group of artist advocacy organizations who came together with a common goal: to help protect artist rights in the fast-growing AI and technology space. Our main focus is to educate our community as well as the public regarding the use of unethical AI/ML media generators.

Our first planned event, AI/ML Media Advocacy Summit will take place virtually on Friday 10th March, starting at 11A EST/8A PST/4P GMT. This free-to-attend, one-day event will bring together speakers, experts, and creatives to help form the beginnings of a code of ethics for these technologies. We will be looking at the current state of the technologies from region-specific initiatives, learning about the issues, laws, and actions being taken around the world as well as focusing on the different areas of the creative industries such as visual arts, writing, production, performance, music, and photography.

By having these public discussions within and for our community we hope to move towards solutions that work not just for creators, but to not be a barrier to innovation. Attendees will have the option to watch discussions in real-time or on-demand after they have happened.

You will need to create a free account on, then you may register for any of the discussions.
