Creative Awards Submission by Miranda Penn-Turin

Nyang for Irk

This project is the result of an assignment for the fashion and culture magazine IRK -
they were planning a tech issue (their current issue) and gave their contributors free
rein to create for the publication. Miranda chose to create backgrounds in Midjourney
then use them as the backdrops for her fashion story, which she shot in full sun on a
white background. She shot Sudanese model Nyang Reat, then interviewed him for the magazine
about his journey from Sudan to America. She also created motion in AI using
the images she had created, ultimately combining that with motion she shot on set and cutting
these clips into a video.

The interview
