APA NW is proud to host longtime photographer and Seattle educator, Alejandro Tomás, for an evening showing his work, answering your questions, and telling stories from his ecclectic career.
Tomás served as a Navy photographer in the Vietnam War and is an honors graduate of the Brooks Institute of Photography. Upon graduation, he became an accredited member of the White House Press Corps, worked on assignment for magazines including TIME, NEWSWEEK and FORBES, and also worked for commercial clients, primarily in the aviation industry.
Together with Walter Bodle, Tomás co-founded the Seattle non-profit organization, Youth In Focus and later he served as Education Chair for the Seattle Chapter of ASMP. But Tomás is perhaps best known locally for his role helping educate a generation of young photographers as head of Seattle Central's Commercial Photography program, from which he retired in 2016.
Come mingle with peers, see some great photography, and celebrate the career of a Seattle photographic giant.
