Many New Yorkers are unaware of the Marine Park Salt Marsh, the largest park in Brooklyn. It is a wetland marsh with a wide variety of species of wildlife and plants, and walking trails to enjoy all the nature for as far as the eye can see. It’s a place New York City landscape photographers should explore!
Veteran photographer William King has made it a personal project to photograph the Marine Park Salt Marsh, and with stunning results. In this presentation he will show you how you can too. As he presents his images, William will discuss the considerations for photographing in this wild place; various photographic shooting styles and equipment, as well as the special items a photographer will need on their check list to be able to create images out in the wilds of Brooklyn (or any other wild place)!
This event will be held in-person at the Adorama Event Space.
Speaker Bio: William King
As a young man William King’s freelance studio photography earned him numerous creative awards from various publications and design groups. Based in New York City, King worked as a freelance Photographic illustrator, photographing book jackets for major book publishing companies, story illustrations for magazines, and pharmaceutical advertising photography. King worked as a still photographer on TV and film production assignments for such clients as Irish Spring Soap, Movado Watch, Coke, Diet Pepsi, American Express, Tide, Hanes Underwear, Noxzema, Gillette and Fruit and Fiber.
King’s documentary photography draws its inspiration from years of production still photography, and a passion for story telling. King has been able to build upon his creative skills as a photographer while earning his Master of Professional Studies in Digital Photography degree from New York’s prestigious School of Visual Arts, and one lucky summer he got to teach Professional Preparation at Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. William plans on pursuing a photographic and teaching career intertwining digital photography with education.
William is also a new member of the APA-New York Board.
