Code of Ethics

American Photographic Artists (APA) is an association that promotes the highest standards in the photo community. As an APA member, you agree to adhere to our Code of Ethics, which promotes professionalism, honesty, and respect for the rights and dignity of others.

APA has established the following code of professional ethics and practices that APA members agree:

  • To operate their businesses with integrity and strive towards excellence in their work and in their deeds, not only with their clients but with all whom they do business.
  • To not duplicate other photographers and artist’s work or infringe upon the rights of other photographers or artists. APA members respect copyright.
  • To treat others with respect and dignity, refrain from personal attacks, and work to create an environment where people feel safe.
  • To avoid any action that would negatively affect the reputation of the profession or of APA.

Breaching the Code of Ethics may result in suspension or termination of Membership in APA.
