Young Photographers Alliance To Host Opening Reception Celebrating the 2014 Mentoring Program

YPA will host a reception and exhibit for the 2014 “Boundaries” Mentoring Program. It will be held at The Art Director’s Club, on 106th West 29th Street in New York City on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. The 2014 YPA mentoring program included 11 teams that spanned the US and Canada, as well as teams from London, England. This is the program's fifth year, which includes college level students and industry professionals, and it is with great pleasure that YPA can report another successful year.

Many of the mentees and mentors will be in attendance, and YPA encourages friends, families, art supporters and art lovers to join them in celebrating their success. Unlike the theme, which will resonate with many, the mentees were able to operate as if no boundaries existed. The results are extraordinary and truly show what it means to overcome adversarial situations, as well as the positive connotations with the word, such as security and reconciliation. To view the results from this year’s program click on “Online Gallery of Boundaries photo essays”. Winners of various “Best Of” categories will be announced during the evening. Categories will include:

  • Best overall mentee
  • Best single team
  • Best team

A number of prizes will be awarded from YPA, ASMP, Photoshelter and Phaseone. YPA is still actively looking for prize donations. If interested please contact info@youngphotographersalliance.org. The evening will run from 6pm-9pm. A suggested donation of $20 is encouraged in order to support future programs. Beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served throughout the evening. More information about this past year’s program can be found here. YPA encourages all to join them in celebrating this year’s Mentees.
