APA member, Tim Mantoani, has been shooting out of his San Diego studio for more than twenty years, serving a wide range of editorial and advertising clients. He is known for his athlete portraits, seen on the covers of ESPN The Magazine, Sports Illustrated, and the past six releases of EA Sports’s Madden video games.
Tim also spent five years on a personal project shooting more than 150 portraits of famous photographers with their favorite images, on 20x24 Polaroid.
Most recently, Tim can be seen hosting his own TV Show, SnapShot.
SnapShot was the winner of KPBS's 2012 Explore contest and Tim and his crew produced, directed, shot and edited, six episodes around San Diego. Viewers join him as he photographs and interviews some of San Diego's most interesting artists, athletes and craftsmen. Episodes from Season One cover a wide range of subjects, including guitar builders, a tintype artist, amputee athletes, a surfboard shaper, a longtime Associated Press photographer and even a field trip to Tijuana to explore the world of Mexican wrestling.
