Igor Brekhov is a fine-art photographer based in Moscow. His ongoing series Nocturne (2019-present) places a single female figure inside an impossible situation - a body inside a flooded grand piano, a woman resting on an overturned car, figures drifting in dark water. He calls the method "conflict in the frame": tenderness and danger, calm and catastrophe held in one black-and-white image, each scene built and lit like a film set.

Nocturne took 2nd Prize (Professional, Fine Art) at the 2026 International Photography Awards, judged among 14,000 entries from 139 countries, and earned an Honourable Mention from PH21 Gallery in Barcelona. In 2026 the work was named to Photolucida's Critical Mass Top 200 and selected for juried exhibitions in Barcelona and at the Chester Photo Festival. His photographs have run in Vogue Russia, Collater.al, The Phoblographer, Positive Magazine and The Photographic Journal.

He has held two solo shows in Moscow - EXPOSED (2023) and an immersive exhibition at Lumiere Hall (2024) - each launching a volume of his self-published two-part book, Black and White. He also founded and teaches a licensed online photography academy with hundreds of graduates.
