American Photographic Artists National
Pro Type: Photographer
Greg Smith seeks telling moments and special places. Five years back, he settled with his wife, Janet, in Colorado’s remote Wet Mountain Valley. Before and since, he has steadily documented the landscape, people and wildlife of southern Colorado, much as he photographed the Lowcountry of South Carolina over 27 years. Known widely as photographer, writer, editor and producer, the Maryland native holds the National Press Photographers Association’s second highest honor and a Leadership Award from the U.N.’s International Photographic Council. His credits include the award-winning documentary “Keeping the May River Wild,” Gullah Home Cooking the Daufuskie Way for UNC Press and publications around the world. Greg earned both a BSJ and an MA in Visual Communication from Ohio University. He exhibits in galleries and at imediasmith.com; teaches photography to all ages; accepts assignments for portrait, documentary, event and news projects; and serves on several local boards, after retiring from the leadership positions with NPPA, ASMP and the Authors Coalition of America.
Includes chapter events, photographer interviews, partner discounts, industry trends, and more.
