Ann Giordano is a visual artist working with photographs, multiples and unique books. Dreams, symbols, human and animal behavior, nature and sound are inspirational elements. Work appears in A Book About Death, Time Capsule and Blind Spot. Collections include NYPL, MoMA and LA County Museum. Since 2006 she has made camera-less images for the series, In My Courtyard, that explore the concepts of survival, change, decay and death using plant imagery and the photographic contact print process. Struggle, emotion, spirit, soul, growth, grit and blossoming are common ideas portrayed in her work. The Tosei Gallery in Tokyo Japan presented Selections from the series, In My Courtyard as a solo exhibition in September 2013. Works are either unique prints or archival pigment prints of the unique photograms.
