American Photographic Artists National
Pro Type: Photographer
I am a photo-ethnographer, a writer, and a researcher. I began my editorial photography career by researching and documenting the contributions African descendants have made to American cuisine and foodways. My approach to editorial photography centers the perspectives of colonized people and communities, by re-framing my image-making process using anthropology methodologies and rigorous personal research. I am a founding member of the Authority Collective and Candor Collective. I founded and am the head curator of the Lit List photo award for emergent BIPOC lens-based artists and I recently co-authored the Photo Bill of Rights.
Includes chapter events, photographer interviews, partner discounts, industry trends, and more.
