Jelisa Peterson

Pro Type: Photographer

Since 1993, I’ve spent many years living and working abroad as a documentary photographer. For the last twenty years, I’ve primarily work in Northern Mozambique. I’ve lived and worked in Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe. I’ve also visited most other countries in these regions over the past 30 years. I lived in Argentina while Bolivia, Brazil, Guatemala and Mexico are other areas I have made portraits.

Nationally, I continue to exhibit widely. I’m fortunate to have been recognized with a number of awards from respected jurors. My work is held in the collections of friends, photography enthusiasts as well as in museums, universities and private firms. I’m in the process of a book project which will hopefully be published in 2025.

I appreciate sharing, critique and discussion about my work and would enjoy learning more about yours. Creating more friends in photography is a pleasure. Please contact me with any questions or ideas for collaboration you might have. It’s a great to be a member of APA.

I’m off to Madagascar in June of 2024. It’s been a dream of mine for a long ages.
