Jelisa Peterson

Pro Type: Photographer

Documentary and Environmental Portraitist Photographer since 1993. I primarily work in Mozambique. I’m most familiar with Southern and Eastern Africa having lived in Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe as well as visiting most other countries in these regions over the past 30 years. Bolivia, Brazil, Guatemala and Mexico are other areas I have made portraits and spent substantial time.

Nationally, I continue to exhibit widely. I’m fortunate to have been recognized with a number of awards from respected jurors. My work has been published and is held in the collections of friends, photography enthusiasts as well as in museums and universities as well private firms. I’m still in the process of a book project which I hopefully will publish in 2023.

I appreciate sharing, critique and discussion about my work and would enjoy learning more about yours. Creating more photography contacts and friends is a great pleasure to me. Please contact me with any questions or ideas for collaboration you might have. It’s a pleasure to be a member of APA!!!

I’m very happy to be headed back to Mozambique and South Africa early in 2023!
