Carla Blumenkrantz Photography

Pro Type: Photographer

I’ve always been drawn to the visual arts. As a child, I had a natural talent for drawing and believed it would shape my future. My passion shifted to photography in my teens after seeing professional prints that captivated me with their realism. Armed with a simple film camera, I began capturing animals and friends, turning moments into lasting memories. This foundation sparked my lifelong journey in photography.

Born and raised in Venezuela to Peruvian immigrants, I grew up immersed in both cultures, which deepened my connection with subjects and resonated with Spanish-speaking audiences. The vibrant traditional Peruvian attire subtly influences my photographic style. The values of empathy and respect, instilled by my family, guide my approach to subjects, ensuring openness, friendliness, and curiosity—traits cherished by both Venezuelans and Peruvians.

At 18, I moved to the United States, adding another dimension to my multicultural background. Today, I use my experience in photojournalism, fine art, and graphic design to infuse authenticity into my work. My goal is to capture honest emotions and moments with my subjects in a dramatic yet comfortable manner.

Now residing in Los Angeles with my husband and two boys, I enjoy cooking and exploring new places with my kids and my camera. While primarily working in California, I embrace my adventurous spirit and welcome assignments worldwide.
