Shawna Gibbs is a photographer and conceptual artist based in New Hampshire. She is well known for documenting the lives of her family and friends including the well-received series, “Movie Night and “My Summer with Optimus Prime”. Her work has been published in several publications including Communication Arts Photography Annual, PDN Photo Annual, and American Photography. She has had her work exhibited nationally and internationally at more than fifty venues including the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston (ICA Boston), Boston Biennial, Los Angeles Center of Photography, Northeastern Illinois University, Currier Museum of Art, Minneapolis Photo Center, CICA Museum (Seoul), and Cape Cod Museum. Gibbs’ work can also be seen on several prominent websites including All About Photo, Der Greif, Fraction Magazine, and Lenscratch. Born in Hartford, CT in 1969 and raised in Maine, Gibbs received a BA in Human Geography from Boston University in 1993.
