Max Yang is a photographer based in both Los Angeles and Beijing. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree with distinction from the ArtCenter College of Design in 2022. Max holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Arts Leadership/Administration from the University of Southern California, conferred in 2023. Max is currently pursuing another Master of Arts (MA) degree in Cinema and Media Studies at USC's School of Cinematic Arts. Max’s work explores the emotional and narrative aspects of queer culture, inspired by its complexities. Her work challenges entrenched norms and the hetero-patriarchal system, pushing against indifference and bias. She captures a spirit of rebellion that is both timely and timeless.
